Vibrating feeders: focus on productivity and low cost

Mining company managers must be aware of two factors when talking about vibrating feeders:

1. High performance on the production line

2. Low maintenance cost.

In this scenario, Furlan Machines’ Synchronized Vibratory Feeders (AVS) are developed to operate in the extreme conditions found in the deposits.

In general, equipment of this type is responsible, in the plant, for tasks such as receiving and dosing rocks to feed the machines in later stages.

To differentiate itself in the market in terms of performance and easy maintenance, Furlan evaluated three sets of differentials in its feeders. The manufacture of the vibrating table was one of them.

The table is delivered to the customer in special material: carbon steel sheet, mounted on a chassis made of metal profiles and supported by springs made of special steel.

However, the engine must be completely free from vibrations present in the machine. Furlan's design guarantees this freedom by using direct transmission via a cardan shaft.

The motorization is another highlight. The motors leave the factory equipped with a frequency inverter, which controls the speed and acceleration of the motor more precisely. At the same time, it optimizes the processing of the rock and generates greater energy efficiency of the machine.

The power flow is easily adjusted: simply change the rotation of the motors using the frequency inverter.

The drive assembly is easy to maintain, at an easily accessible point on the machine. If the customer chooses, the equipment can be delivered with automatic lubrication.

Furlan Engineering also developed a self-synchronization system, in which the vibrators work in opposite directions, due to the installation position used – in relation to the feeder body. In operation, the feeder is resistant to the heaviest impact loads.

Vibration amplitude of the feeder is important

Furlan's AVS line is very simple to install. Operation and maintenance are also quick and cost-effective.

The vibrating element is equipped with grease lubrication. The grate rails, cast in manganese steel, have the function of quickly pre-scalping (separating) the finer material that will be crushed.

Vibration amplitude was another focus of Furlan's project. Adjusting this function is simple, using "fan" type counterweights – which allows for a perfect flow of equipment feed in the subsequent stages of processing.

The range of optional extras in the Furlan line is wide. The feeder can be equipped with an overhopper and a lowered hopper.

The power supply control can be controlled using a remote control button, and can also be supplied with fixing elements for concrete and metal bases. The metal structure with service platform and access ladder is part of the list of optional extras, increasing operator safety.
