“Jornada das Estrelas Furlan”: Sales Meeting highlights the company’s vision of the future

Máquinas Furlan held the 2023 edition of the Sales Meeting on March 20 and 21. This year, the theme was “Star Trek”, with the slogan “Extracting the best the future has to offer”.

The 2023 Sales Meeting brought together the entire Sales team of Máquinas Furlan, including representatives from several Brazilian states. The industry is one of the leaders in the supply of mining equipment, accessories and steel castings for wear and replacement.

The inspiration for the meeting was the television series “Star Trek”, which also spawned blockbuster films and series with many fans. Thus, it has become a cultural phenomenon that impacts people’s lives, both personally and professionally.

Doctor Dr. Amaury Simoni, from Limeira and a member of one of the series' most respected fan clubs, was present at the event.

For the event, the company's headquarters in Limeira (SP) was transformed into the “USS Furlan” spaceship, similar to the name of the interstellar spaceships in the series. The name refers to the spaceship's mission to find “new markets and new sales”. Managers from various areas of the company were also present.

Links between the series and company management

The participants formed “the crew of the ship”, tasked with being responsible for achieving these goals. “I see many links between the Star Trek series and Furlan’s management. This inspires us when we think about the company’s direction, an inspiration that we share with our employees”, stated Valter Zutin Furlan, CEO of the company.

Valter and his brother, Wagner Zutin Furlan, chairman of the company's Board of Directors, opened the meeting. “In addition to strengthening our relationship with our customers, we are also seeking new markets,” Valter said during the event. The company celebrated its 61st anniversary earlier this month.

A 3D virtual reality competition helped to make the environment even closer to the challenges faced by the members of the interstellar ships.

Ricardo Alvarinho, founder of Resultado Memorável, was one of the speakers. He is a B2B sales specialist and highlighted to managers and representatives the importance of applying methods that build customer loyalty and generate the best results.

Flexibility was another point discussed. A quote from Spock, one of the most well-known characters in Star Trek, sparked the debate: “change is the essential process of all existence.”

New products in hammers for mills

The new developments in customer relations were presented. One of them is the new service format for industries interested in hammers for mills.

Another new development came from the Castings area. During the visit to the industrial park, as scheduled in the program, the representatives learned about the improvements and expansions in the sector's structure. The new processes used were presented, as well as the way the recently created Metallurgical Excellence team operates.

During the visit, the representatives also saw the Furlan team working on equipment refurbishment. Refurbishment is a good alternative for companies that, for example, need to increase productivity or have replacement machines for review periods on line items.
